Embrace Insurance — Company Profile

Embrace logo

What it is: a pet insurance brand founded in 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio — the concept won the 2003 Wharton Business Plan Competition, and it sold its first policy in 2006. Its signature features are a diminishing deductible that drops $50 for every claim-free policy term, coverage of vet exam fees (which several rivals exclude), and an optional Wellness Rewards allowance for routine care. Policies are underwritten by American Modern group insurers.

Verdict: Legit  Our rating: Not yet rated — the evidence check is published (see the legit check); numeric scoring with visible inputs is in progress, and we do not publish a number without them.

Embrace is a legitimate pet insurance program — founded 2003, administered by Embrace Pet Insurance Agency, LLC, and underwritten by American Modern Insurance Group companies. The practical questions are fit: the Healthy Pet Deductible rewards staying claim-free for years, Wellness Rewards is legally a non-insurance benefit (not coverage), and new accident-and-illness enrollment closes at age 15. Embrace questions

Is Embrace’s Wellness Rewards insurance?

No — and Embrace’s own disclosures say so. Wellness Rewards is a supplementary, non-insurance benefit administered by Embrace Pet Insurance Agency that reimburses routine care up to an allowance you choose. It sits alongside the insurance policy; it is not part of it, and it is not available in Rhode Island.

I have seen Embrace plans sold under other brands. Is that the same company?

Yes. Embrace’s own sample policy names Allstate, American Modern Pet Insurance, Armed Forces Insurance, GEICO, and USAA among the brands offering Embrace plans. The “competitor” quote you get elsewhere may be the same underlying program — compare plan documents, not brand names.

Why does this profile say “Not yet rated”?

We publish a numeric score only with the inputs behind it visible on the page. This company’s evidence check (on our Is It Legit page) is complete; its full numeric scoring is in progress, so the honest label is “Not yet rated” rather than an invented number.
