How we make money
Plain version first: this site is a business. Here is exactly how it earns, and the lines that earning never crosses.
How we earn
- Lead fees (cost per lead). When quote partners are live and a visitor chooses to request quotes through our tools or comparison pages, the partner may pay us a fee for that request.
- Commissions (cost per sale). For some products, if a visitor buys through a tracked link on this site, the seller may pay us a percentage of the sale.
- Business services (later). Businesses whose profiles earn real traffic (1,000 profile visits or 10 leads sent) may later be offered paid tools — things like review-response features and a verification badge. Those tools buy visibility and workflow, never a better score, verdict, ranking, or review.
What money never buys
- A verdict, a score, or a ranking position.
- Removal or editing of a reader review.
- A “best” label. Labels come from the published methodology, not from a contract.
What this means for prices you see
Being paid by a partner never changes the price you pay that partner. Where a page contains a paid placement, the placement is labelled on that page, next to the placement — not only in this policy. Where no partner exists yet, pages say so and link only to other pages on this site.
Estimates are not quotes
Our tools show estimate ranges built from the answers you give and the published model on the tool page. An estimate is not a quote, an offer, or a promise of any price. Only an insurer can quote you, after its own full underwriting.
